PolypLab Pro-Carbon – Premium Activated Carbon (500 mL, 1000 mL, 4000 mL, 14 L, 18 L)
Overview
Pro-Carbon is a high-purity activated carbon formulated for marine and freshwater aquariums. It rapidly removes dissolved organics, yellowing compounds, odors, and residual medications—polishing water clarity and improving light penetration for healthier corals and fish.
Key Features
-
Crystal-clear water: Strips discoloration and odors for maximum light transmission
-
Reef-safe & phosphate-free: Suitable for SPS/LPS reefs and fish-only systems
-
High capacity, low dust: Rinses clean quickly; minimal fines
-
Versatile use: Media reactor, canister tray, filter sock, or mesh bag
-
Stable chemistry: Does not affect salinity or alkalinity when used as directed
Directions
-
Rinse a measured amount with RO/DI or tap water until runoff is clear.
-
Place in a high-to-moderate flow area (reactor preferred for best contact).
-
Typical use rate: Start with 50–100 mL per 50 gallons (190 L); adjust based on bioload and water tint/odor.
-
Replace every 3–4 weeks, or sooner if water begins to yellow or odors return.
-
When removing medications or heavy organics, use the higher end of the range and monitor nutrients.
Tips
-
Run carbon continuously in mixed reefs to keep water clear for photosynthetic corals.
-
Rinse gently to preserve granule integrity; avoid excessive tumbling that can grind media.
-
After major dosing or fragging events, refresh a small portion of carbon rather than the entire charge to avoid sudden changes.
