Brightwell Aquatics Xport BIO Plate
Overview
Brightwell Aquatics Xport BIO Plate is an ultra-porous biological filtration plate designed to provide massive surface area for beneficial nitrifying bacteria. Built with NanoIntelex technology and doped with aragonite, it delivers rapid, efficient conversion of ammonia and nitrite to nitrate while helping stabilize pH at the bacteria level. Ideal for marine systems and hard freshwater aquariums with higher pH, it’s perfect for sumps, filter chambers, and high-bioload setups.
Key Features
-
Ultra-porous plate media with extremely high colonizable surface area for aerobic and anaerobic bacteria
-
Provides over 71,000 sq. ft. of surface area per liter of media; one plate offers roughly 125,000 sq. ft. of usable bacterial surface
-
Utilizes NanoIntelex technology for enhanced internal pore structure and maximum biological efficiency
-
Helps reduce toxic ammonia and nitrite to near zero in heavily stocked aquariums and ponds
-
Also assists in lowering phosphate and dissolved organics as bacterial populations develop
-
Doped with aragonite to buffer pH at the bacteria surface, preventing acid buildup that can kill colonies and reduce media capacity
-
Can be used as the primary biological medium or alongside other filtration media
-
Suitable for marine, reef, and hard freshwater aquariums (pH ~7.5 or higher)
