Brightwell Aquatics Razor Marine – Advanced Water Clarifier & Surface Cleaner for Reef Aquariums
Overview
Kick back the “uglies” without harsh chemicals. Razor Marine is a reef-safe clarifier and surface cleaner formulated to break down and lift stubborn organics that fuel haze, biofilms, and greasy surface scum. Used as a short program or low-dose upkeep, it helps rock, sand, and glass look cleaner while your filtration exports the loosened waste—ideal for new tanks, post-maintenance cleanups, and ongoing clarity in SPS/LPS/soft coral systems.
Key Features
-
Targets organics at the source – Helps degrade and lift residues that cause film, haze, and dingy surfaces.
-
Clear, polished look – Supports sparkling water and cleaner rock/sand with routine use.
-
Reef & invert safe – Suitable for mixed reefs when used as directed (no copper, dyes, or perfumes).
-
Plays nicely with filtration – Works alongside skimmers, carbon, and mechanical media to export loosened waste.
-
Flexible use – Run as a short “cleanup” course or light maintenance to keep clarity on point.
Directions (General)
-
Shake well. Dose per label for total system volume in a high-flow area.
-
For problem cleanup, dose daily for 7–14 days (or as the label specifies) while rinsing/rotating mechanical media.
-
For maintenance, switch to weekly or every other week dosing.
-
Skimmer/UV: Run your skimmer; monitor for temporary activity changes. If using UV/ozone, dose Razor Marine first and allow several hours of contact time before resuming maximum sterilization.
-
Do not overdose. If water clouds briefly, that’s typically normal and clears as the filter catches up.
Tip: During the cleanup phase, turkey-baste rockwork right after dosing to lift detritus into suspension for removal by the filter.
Best Practices
-
Keep mechanical filtration fresh (swap pads/floss 1–2× per week during cleanup).
-
Maintain strong aeration/flow; stable reef parameters accelerate results.
-
Pair with good husbandry: measured feeding, routine water changes, and appropriate nutrient export.
-
Consider alternating weeks with a bacterial maintenance product to support a balanced microbiome.
Compatibility
-
Safe with corals, snails, shrimp, and fish when used as directed.
-
Works with carbon and phosphate media; replace or refresh media as it becomes saturated.
-
Space at least 24 hours from dosing oxidizers/medications.
