Brightwell Aquatics Florin Delta GH+
Overview
Give plants and livestock the minerals they actually need. Florin Delta GH+ raises general hardness (GH) by supplying bioavailable calcium & magnesium (and supporting trace minerals) to RO/DI, rain, and very soft tap water. Proper GH supports healthy osmoregulation, strong growth, vibrant coloration, and robust root and leaf structure in planted, community, and shrimp aquariums—without unnecessarily boosting alkalinity (KH).
Key Features
-
Targeted remineralization – Increases Ca²⁺/Mg²⁺ for balanced GH; does not intentionally raise KH or sodium.
-
Optimized for plants & inverts – Provides the macro-minerals aquatic plants, fish, snails, and shrimp require.
-
RO/DI friendly – Builds a stable mineral baseline for water changes and top-offs.
-
Predictable & precise – Clear dose-to-result relationship for consistent, repeatable targets.
-
Safe & clean – Phosphate-free; suitable for aquascapes, community fish, and shrimp when used as directed.
Directions (General)
-
Test first. Measure GH (°dGH) of your aquarium and source water. Set a target.
-
Pre-condition new water. Dissolve Florin Delta GH+ in change/top-off water and mix thoroughly.
-
Dose per label to reach your target GH. Add to a high-flow area.
-
Adjust gradually: Increase ≤2 °dGH per 24 hours to avoid osmotic stress.
-
Re-test after 30–60 minutes and again the next day; repeat as needed to maintain your range.
For best stability, match the GH of new water to the aquarium before each water change.
Recommended Ranges (Guidelines)
-
Planted/community: 4–6 °dGH
-
Livebearers/rainbows: 6–10 °dGH
-
Shrimp
-
Neocaridina: 6–8 °dGH, modest KH (2–4)
-
Caridina “bee” types: 3–6 °dGH, low KH (0–2) with acidic substrates
Adjust to the needs of your specific species and aquascape.
-
Best Practices
-
Keep KH and pH consistent; GH affects mineral content, not pH buffering. Pair with Florin Delta KH+ if alkalinity is also low.
-
Plants generally prefer a Ca:Mg ratio ~3–4:1. If leaves show interveinal chlorosis despite adequate iron, verify Mg and overall GH.
-
When running CO₂, set and hold GH/KH before dialing in CO₂; then keep remineralization consistent to avoid swings.
-
Log GH readings; remineralize every batch of RO/DI for rock-solid day-to-day stability.
Compatibility
-
Works with RO/DI, distilled, rain, and soft tap water (dechlorinated).
-
Safe with fertilizers, conditioners, bio-bacteria, and shrimp/snail tanks.
-
Avoid simultaneous use with strong acids or pH-down products during mixing.
