Build a nutrient-ready foundation for thriving aquascapes and inverts. FlorinBase Laterin Substrat F (Fine) is a high-porosity clay substrate with excellent cation-exchange capacity (CEC) to hold nutrients at the root zone. The fine grain anchors carpets and delicate stems while remaining easy for shrimp to forage and groom—perfect for planted communities and dedicated shrimp tanks.

How to Use

1. Layout first: Position hardscape (rocks/wood).

2. Optional quick rinse: A brief swirl-rinse can remove loose fines; avoid over-rinsing.

3. Depth guide: Foreground 1–1.5 in (2.5–4 cm); plant zones 2–3 in (5–7.5 cm).

4. Pre-moisten & plant: Mist substrate, plant with tweezers; mist foliage before filling.

5. Slow fill: Pour onto a plate/plastic sheet to prevent disturbance.

6. Cycle & fertilize: Begin your fert routine (root tabs for heavy feeders, liquids for stems/carpets) once plants settle.

Tip: For steeper terraces, use rock/wood retainers or substrate supports to keep slopes in place.

Best Practices

• Typical planted parameters: 72–80°F (22–27°C); pH matched to livestock/plants (often 6.2–7.4).

• Maintain steady CO₂ (if used), consistent photoperiod, and balanced macros/micros.

• Ensure good flow through the bed; clean mechanical media regularly to preserve oxygenated root zones.

• Vacuum lightly; avoid deep gravel-vac in dense plantings to protect roots.

Compatibility

• Works with sponge, HOB, canister, and sump filtration.

• Excellent for Neocaridina/Caridina and community fish when the tank is fully cycled.

• Can be used alone or layered/mixed with other FlorinBase grades (e.g., coarser grains in the back).
