How to Use (Summary)

1. Rinse the vial with sample water; fill to the marked line.

2. Add the indicated drops of Indicator; swirl gently.

3. Titrate with Reagent using the syringe, drop by drop, swirling between drops.

4. When the color changes at the endpoint, read °dGH based on drops used (see chart for ppm CaCO₃).

5. Rinse vial and tools with fresh water after testing.

Target guidance (freshwater):

• Soft-water species (tetras, rasboras, apistos): ~2–6 °dGH

• Community/most planted tanks: ~4–10 °dGH

• Livebearers, African rift cichlids: ~10–20+ °dGH
  Adjust with remineralizers or RO/DI blending as needed.

Best Practices

• Test weekly or when adjusting water sources/remineralizers.

• Keep a simple log to track trends.

• For planted tanks using RO/DI, confirm GH after each water change.

• Note: GH is a freshwater parameter; marine tanks rely on salinity, Ca, Mg, and alkalinity instead.
