Overview
The ASF Phosphate Test Kit gives quick, reliable PO₄³⁻ readings to help you maintain healthy nutrient balance. Keeping phosphate in a small, stable range supports coral coloration, reduces nuisance algae pressure, and promotes overall reef stability.
Key Features
-
Reef-focused sensitivity for ultra-low phosphate levels
-
Clear, easy end-point with readable color/scale
-
Fast workflow—complete a test in minutes
-
Repeatable results with calibrated dropper/syringe
-
Cost-effective—multiple tests per kit (usage dependent)
How to Use (Summary)
-
Rinse the vial with sample water; fill to the marked line.
-
Add the indicated drops of Reagent A; cap and swirl.
-
Add Reagent B per instructions; swirl and wait the specified development time.
-
Compare the sample to the included color chart/scale to read phosphate (ppm).
-
Rinse all components with fresh water after testing.
Target guidance: Many mixed reefs aim for ~0.02–0.08 ppm PO₄. Adjust export/dosing to suit your system goals.
Best Practices
-
Test at the same time of day for consistency.
-
Log results; re-test after water changes, media swaps (e.g., GFO), or dosing.
-
If results seem off, run a control using freshly mixed saltwater.
-
Keep reagents tightly capped; avoid contaminating droppers and vial.
