How to Use (Summary)

1. Rinse vial with sample water; fill to the marked line.

2. Add Indicator drops (per instructions); swirl gently.

3. Titrate with Reagent using the syringe—add dropwise while swirling until the color shifts at the endpoint.

4. Use the card to read alkalinity in dKH (and meq/L).

5. Rinse vial, syringe, and cap with fresh water after testing.

Target guidance (marine/reef): Most mixed reefs run ~7.5–9.0 dKH (≈2.7–3.2 meq/L). Keep daily change ≤ 0.3–0.5 dKH.

Best Practices

• Test at the same time daily for consistency, especially when tuning dosing.

• Log results; re-test after water changes or equipment/media changes.

• If dosing two-part/kalk/reactor, adjust gradually to avoid rapid swings.

• Verify with a control (freshly mixed saltwater) if a reading seems off.
