PolypLab Genesis Rock – 4 Pack
Overview
PolypLab Genesis Rock is an ultra-porous ceramic bio-media designed to supercharge biological filtration. Each rock provides massive surface area for nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria to colonize, helping stabilize ammonia and nitrite while supporting long-term nitrate control in reef and fish-only systems.
Key Features
-
High surface area matrix: Supports dense bacteria populations for robust bio-filtration.
-
Reef-safe ceramic: Inert, phosphate-free; will not leach contaminants.
-
Versatile placement: Ideal for sumps, media baskets, back chambers of AIO tanks, canister trays, or low-flow refugium zones.
-
For new & established tanks: Seed new systems or boost mature tanks with additional capacity.
-
Marine & freshwater compatible: Works in reefs, FOWLR, planted, and cichlid systems.
-
Low maintenance: Won’t clog quickly; easy to rinse and reuse.
What’s Included
-
(4) PolypLab Genesis Rocks (individually wrapped)
How to Use
-
Rinse gently in RO/DI or tank water to remove dust.
-
Place in moderate flow after mechanical filtration for best colonization.
-
For new tanks, seed with a trusted bacteria culture; for established tanks, add gradually over 7–10 days.
-
Maintenance: If flow slows or detritus builds up, swish in a bucket of aquarium water (never bleach; avoid prolonged chlorinated tap exposure).
-
When upgrading or replacing media, stagger changes to preserve bio-capacity.
Notes & Tips
-
Porous ceramics are fragile—handle with care to avoid chipping.
-
Adding significant new bio-media can subtly change nutrient dynamics; monitor ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate during the first 2–3 weeks.
-
For maximum effect, pair with consistent mechanical filtration and reasonable feeding practices.
