Brightwell Aquatics Xport NO3 Plate
Overview
The Brightwell Aquatics Xport NO3 Plate is a high-capacity biological filtration medium designed specifically for long-term nitrate reduction in marine, reef, and freshwater aquariums. Engineered with Brightwell’s proprietary Xport technology, each plate offers an enormous internal pore structure that supports both aerobic and anaerobic bacterial colonies, allowing for efficient removal of nitrate and other nitrogenous waste compounds. Ideal for large systems or sumps, it provides stable, passive nitrate control without the need for reactors or complex equipment.
Key Features
-
Massive surface area: Porous ceramic structure provides exceptional space for beneficial bacteria colonization
-
Supports denitrification: Promotes the growth of anaerobic bacteria deep within the media, effectively converting nitrate to nitrogen gas
-
Chemical stability: Inert composition will not leach silicates, phosphates, or metals into aquarium water
-
High durability: Maintains structural integrity even under heavy flow conditions and extended use
-
Compatible with all aquarium types: Safe for marine, reef, and freshwater systems
-
Works synergistically with Brightwell MicroBacter7, MicroBacter Clean, and MicroBacter Start XLM to seed and sustain beneficial bacterial populations
-
Low maintenance: Can be gently rinsed in aquarium water every few months to remove debris while preserving bacterial colonies
