Brightwell Aquatics Shrimp Code
Overview
Shrimp Code is a specialized trace- and minor-element supplement crafted for freshwater shrimp, other crustaceans, and compatible riverine fish. It is formulated to replenish key micronutrients that are rapidly depleted in closed aquarium systems—especially those using carbon or resin filtration—and supports healthy molting, pigmentation, and metabolic functions.
The formula is copper-free, making it safe for even the most sensitive invertebrates, and uses ultra-high purity materials in purified water for maximum stability and compatibility.
Key Features
-
Copper-free and shrimp-safe—formulated with invertebrate health in mind.
-
Provides trace and minor elements in biologically beneficial ratios derived from shrimp habitat research.
-
Supports neurological and metabolic processes, as well as biopigmentation for enhanced coloration.
-
Compensates for nutrients lost via chemical filtration media (activated carbon, resins).
-
Made with purified water and ultra-high purity materials to ensure minimal contamination.
-
Suitable for shrimp tanks and riverine fish setups (e.g., tetras, rasboras, kuhli loaches) with overlapping water-parameter needs.
Specifications & Dosing
Available Sizes: 125 mL | 250 mL | 500 mL | 2 L
Standard Dosing:
-
Basic: Shake well. Add 2 mL per 8 US-gallons (≈30 L) 2–3 times weekly. A 500 mL bottle covers up to 2,000 US-gallons (≈9,500 L) at this rate.
-
Advanced: For heavy setups / new tanks: Dose 2 mL per 20 US-gallons daily for 4 weeks, then increase to 4 mL per 20 US-gallons for another 4 weeks; then maintain as needed.
Water Parameter Target (General): pH 6.5–7.5; dGH 4–6; dKH 3–4 (specific species may vary).
Note: Chemical test kits typically don’t measure many trace elements—rely instead on livestock appearance and behavior.
Important: If using activated carbon or resins, dose after their use to avoid immediate removal of the supplement.
Use-Case / Recommendation
This product is ideal for shrimp hobbyists (Neocaridina, Caridina, etc.) who are maintaining stable, biotope-style setups and want to ensure that trace micronutrients are not the limiting factor to coloration, growth, or breeding success. It is also a good fit for planted/shrimp mixed tanks or riverine community setups with sensitive invertebrates and small fish that thrive under similar water chemistry.
Because the user (Brian) often deals with detail-oriented part numbers and dosing protocols, track dosage logs and water change schedules to integrate this supplement seamlessly into your maintenance plan.
