Brightwell Aquatics Rift Lake dKH is a specialized buffer formulated to increase and maintain carbonate hardness (KH) in African cichlid and other Rift Lake aquariums. It helps stabilize pH, promotes strong biological filtration, and replicates the natural mineral composition of Lakes Malawi, Tanganyika, and Victoria.

Directions for Use:

• Initial Use: Dissolve 5 grams (about 1 teaspoon) per 10 U.S. gallons (38 L) of water. Add to new or existing aquariums gradually over several hours to avoid pH shock.

• Maintenance: Test KH regularly and adjust as needed to maintain the target alkalinity level for your specific cichlid species and lake biotope.

Recommended KH Ranges:

• Lake Malawi: 7–9° dKH

• Lake Tanganyika: 10–12° dKH

• Lake Victoria: 6–8° dKH

Tips:

• For best results, use in conjunction with Brightwell Rift Lake dGH (for general hardness) and Brightwell Rift Lake Salt to reproduce each lake’s mineral balance.

• Always pre-dissolve buffer in freshwater before adding it to the tank.
