Directions (General)

1. Test first. Measure KH (dKH) and pH. Determine your target.

2. Dose per label for total system volume. Dissolve and add to a high-flow area.

3. Adjust slowly: Increase ≤1 dKH per 24 hours to avoid osmotic stress.

4. Re-test 30–60 minutes after dosing and again the next day; repeat as needed to reach/hold target KH.

5. For RO/DI water, pre-condition change water to match the aquarium’s KH before adding to the tank.

Note: KH affects but does not “set” pH on its own—CO₂ level, organics, and acids (tannins) also influence pH.

Recommended Ranges (Guidelines)

• Planted/community / shrimp: 3–6 dKH

• Livebearers / rainbows: 5–8 dKH

• African cichlids (Malawi/Tanganyika): 7–12 dKH (often paired with matching GH and higher pH)

• Keep GH (general hardness) in step with KH for healthy osmoregulation.

• When injecting CO₂, raise KH gradually and monitor pH drop during the photoperiod.

• For blackwater/biotope tanks using tannins, expect a lower pH at a given KH; make small, incremental changes.

• Maintain regular water changes; remineralize new water consistently for rock-solid stability.
