Jump-start that fresh “purple reef” look. MicroBacter Purple M is a marine-formulated bioculture designed to condition clean rock and other hard surfaces so coralline algae can take hold and spread. By supporting a healthy microbial matrix and improving organic control on new or “too clean” rock, Purple M helps coralline colonize faster—without dyes or artificial colorants.

Directions (General)

1. Shake very well.

2. Turn OFF UV/ozone and reduce aggressive skimming for 24–48 hours after each dose to allow attachment.

3. New systems / bare rock: Dose daily per label for 1–2 weeks, then 2–3× per week as the system matures.

4. Established systems: Dose 2–3× per week or after major cleanings/media swaps.

5. Maintain strong aeration and flow. Avoid overdosing; temporary haze can occur and typically clears with filtration.

For fastest results, seed at least a little live rock or scrapings from established coralline surfaces (optional but helpful).

Best Practices (for Coralline)

• Hold reef parameters steady: Alk 7.5–9 dKH, Ca 420–450 ppm, Mg 1280–1380 ppm, Salinity 1.025–1.026, Temp 77–79°F (25–26°C).

• Keep PO₄/NO₃ in modest, non-zero ranges; extreme ULNS can slow calcifiers.

• Provide moderate light and good flow over rock.

• After the initial dosing window, consider routine bacterial maintenance (e.g., MicroBacter Clean/7) to keep surfaces clear.

Compatibility

• Safe for reef tanks, FOWLR, sumps/refugia, live/dry rock, aragonite sands, and ceramic media.

• Space at least 24–48 hours from medications, peroxide, and sterilizers.

• Can be used with carbon and PO₄ media (avoid fresh, oversized media during the first 24–48 hrs after dosing).
