How to Use (Summary)

1. Rinse the vial with sample water; fill to the marked line.

2. Add Reagent A per instructions; cap and swirl gently.

3. Add Reagent B, swirl, and wait the specified development time.

4. Compare to the included color chart to read nitrite (ppm NO₂⁻).

5. Rinse vial and tools with fresh water after testing.

Target: Aim for 0 ppm NO₂⁻. Any detectable nitrite warrants action (water change, add bacteria, reduce feeding, improve aeration).

Best Practices

• Test daily during new-tank cycling and after bioload increases.

• Track ammonia → nitrite → nitrate progression to confirm cycle health.

• If using conditioners that detoxify nitrite, note some kits still read total NO₂⁻—watch trends.
