Use it to correct Mg and fine-tune the chloride:sulfate balance in conjunction with your magnesium chloride source—supporting stable alk/calcium demand, stronger skeletal growth, and steady pH in SPS/LPS and mixed reefs.

Directions

1. Test first: Measure Mg and verify your target (commonly 1280–1380 ppm for mixed reefs).

2. Prepare a stock (recommended): Dissolve the measured Isol8:Mg(SO)₄ in RO/DI water to your preferred concentration; mix until fully clear. Label the container.

3. Calculate dose: Use the label’s dose-to-ppm relationship against total system water volume (display + sump minus displacement).

4. Split corrections: For larger adjustments, add multiple small doses over 24–48 hours.

5. Maintenance: Establish a daily/weekly dose that matches uptake; confirm with testing and adjust as needed.

6. Add in high flow (sump/overflow). Do not mix in the same container with alkalinity or calcium concentrates.

For ionic balance, combine with your magnesium chloride source per your recipe or ICP guidance.

Best Practices

• Hold core parameters steady: Alk 7.5–9 dKH, Ca 420–450 ppm, Mg 1280–1380 ppm, Salinity 1.025–1.026, Temp 77–79°F (25–26°C).

• Time magnesium additions away from large water changes or fresh resin/carbon swaps for consistent contact time.

• If precipitation or film appears, reduce single-dose size and increase dosing frequency.

• Record all additions; align with your BluePrint schedule and ICP cadence.

Compatibility

• Safe alongside protein skimmers, carbon, phosphate media, refugia, and bacterial programs.

• Use with calcium and alkalinity supplements as part of a balanced program (dose separately, several minutes apart, in high flow).

• Avoid simultaneous dosing with strong oxidizers.
