Directions

1. Test first: Obtain a recent ICP analysis and confirm iron levels vs. your target.

2. Calculate dose: Use the label’s dose-to-µg·L⁻¹ relationship against total system volume.

3. Split corrections: For larger adjustments, add multiple micro-doses over several days rather than one addition.

4. Add in high flow (sump/overflow). Avoid direct contact with coral tissue.

5. Verify & maintain: Re-test on your normal ICP cadence; convert to a modest maintenance dose as needed.

6. Do not exceed label guidance—iron is highly reactive at trace levels.

Tip: Dose away from fresh GFO/resins and other strong adsorbers for consistent contact time.

Best Practices

• Keep core parameters stable: Alk 7.5–9 dKH, Ca 420–450 ppm, Mg 1280–1380 ppm, Salinity 1.025–1.026, Temp 77–79°F (25–26°C).

• Log every trace addition; align with your BluePrint schedule and water-change cycle.

• If running a refugium, begin with very small doses and watch macroalgae color and growth rate.

• Avoid simultaneous additions with strong oxidizers; separate iron dosing from phosphate control measures to minimize precipitation.
