Overview

Jump-start biological filtration the clean way. Inocul8 is a dry, free-flowing starter consortium of non-pathogenic nitrifying and supporting heterotrophic bacteria selected to rapidly seed rock, sand, and media in new builds, rescapes, and post-maintenance resets. It establishes resilient biofilms, speeds cycling, and helps stabilize DIN (ammonia → nitrite → nitrate) while improving water clarity from day one.

Key Features

  • Rapid seeding of nitrifiers and supportive strains on rock, sand, and filter media.

  • Clean start—formulated to minimize haze while encouraging robust biofilm attachment.

  • Cycle support—aids conversion of NH₃/NH₄⁺ → NO₂⁻ → NO₃⁻ for a smoother break-in period.

  • Versatile use—ideal for new systems, frag tanks, QT start-ups, and after heavy cleanings.

  • Dry & stable—easy storage, precise measuring; two sizes for any project (25 g & 75 g).

Directions (System Start & Resets)

  1. Prepare a slurry: In a clean cup, mix the measured Inocul8 with tank water until smooth. Use immediately.

  2. Dose: Add per label for total system volume, distributing to the sump and over rock/media in high flow.

  3. Aeration/flow: Ensure strong circulation and surface agitation.

  4. Nutrient source: Provide a controlled ammonia source (fishless or light stocking/feeding) so nitrifiers establish.

  5. UV/ozone: Leave off for 24–48 hours after dosing to maximize attachment, then resume as normal.

  6. Repeat: For new systems, re-dose lightly per label over the first 1–2 weeks to strengthen biofilms.

Best Practices

  • Keep mechanical filtration (socks/floss/rollers) clean so loosened organics are exported.

  • Test NH₃/NH₄⁺, NO₂⁻, NO₃⁻ during the break-in; increase bioload gradually as readings stabilize.

  • Avoid large chemical media changes during the initial 48 hours post-dose.

  • Pair ongoing maintenance with Captiv8 bacterial programs (e.g., Remedi8/Propag8) once the system is cycling.

Compatibility

  • Safe for reef, FOWLR, frag, and QT systems when used as directed.

  • Works alongside skimmers, carbon, and PO₄ media (resume/adjust after the 24–48 hr attachment window).

  • Compatible with ceramic/rock media, sand beds, and biomedia bricks/blocks.
