Aqua Ultraviolet – TWIST 40 Watt UV Sterilizer, 2" (White)

Overview

Mid-size UV-C sterilizer with a flexible plumbing layout. The TWIST 40W adds a rotatable union block so you can “twist” the inlet/outlet orientation to match your run—cutting elbows, head loss, and install time. 2" slip ports support high-flow pond and aquarium loops.

Key Features

  • Rotating (TWIST) union block aligns ports to your plumbing in tight spaces

  • Single 40W low-pressure UV-C lamp targets algae, bacteria, and protozoa

  • 2" slip inlet/outlet for clean, high-flow PVC installs

  • Clear end cap shows lamp-on status; service-friendly access

  • Weather-resistant housing (non-submersible) for indoor or protected outdoor use

Sizing & Flow Guidance

  • Sterilizer (freshwater): ~1,200–2,000 gal

  • Sterilizer (saltwater): ~325 gal

  • Clarifier (freshwater): up to ~6,000 gal (with 50–75% plant coverage)

  • Target UV-dose flows (EOL):

    • ~2,900 GPH ≈ 30,000 µW·s/cm² (clarifying)

    • ~1,930 GPH ≈ 45,000 µW·s/cm²

    • ~1,450 GPH ≈ 60,000 µW·s/cm²

    • ~1,160 GPH ≈ 75,000 µW·s/cm²

    • ~967 GPH ≈ 90,000 µW·s/cm² (tighter pathogen control)

Installation Notes

  1. Install after mechanical filtration on a pressurized return line.

  2. Rotate (twist) the union block to align with your plumbing, solvent-weld, and allow full cure before pressurizing.

  3. Add unions/valves to isolate the unit and dial in target flow.

  4. Protect from weather; do not submerge.

  5. Replace the lamp every 9–12 months for consistent UV dose; clean/inspect the quartz sleeve at each change.
