Aqua Ultraviolet – Classic Inline UV Sterilizer, 57 Watt, 3/4" Socket (Black)

Overview

High-output inline UV-C sterilizer for aquariums and small ponds. The Classic 57W with 3/4" socket unions plumbs into rigid 3/4" PVC for a clean, leak-resistant install—ideal for medium–large displays, reef/freshwater polishing loops, and QT systems.

Key Features

  • 3/4" socket (slip) unions for rigid-PVC plumbing

  • Single 57W low-pressure UV-C lamp for algae/bacteria/protozoa control

  • Clear end cap to confirm lamp-on status at a glance

  • Weather-resistant (non-submersible) housing; compact, service-friendly layout

  • Optional Wiper version available (not recommended for saltwater use)

Sizing & Flow Guidance

  • Sterilizer (freshwater): ~1,800–3,500 gal

  • Sterilizer (saltwater): ~500–700 gal

  • Clarifier (freshwater): up to ~8,000 gal (with 50–75% plant coverage)

  • Target UV-dose flows (EOL):

    • ~3,600 GPH ≈ 30,000 µW·s/cm² (clarifying)

    • ~2,400 GPH ≈ 45,000 µW·s/cm²

    • ~1,800 GPH ≈ 60,000 µW·s/cm²

    • ~1,440 GPH ≈ 75,000 µW·s/cm²

    • ~1,200 GPH ≈ 90,000 µW·s/cm² (tighter pathogen control)

Installation Notes

  1. Install after mechanical filtration on a pressure line; follow the flow arrow.

  2. Solvent-weld 3/4" PVC into the sockets; allow full cure before pressurizing.

  3. Use valves/unions to tune flow to your target dose and simplify service.

  4. Keep power components dry/ventilated; do not submerge the unit.

  5. Replace the lamp every 9–12 months of continuous use to maintain dose.
